Dry skin needs some extra care for it to thrive.
Having dry skin can be hard—especially during the winter time when it keeps flaking off and itching all the time. It needs all the hydration it can get—even if that needs a little extra help from outside sources.
Choosing the right cleanser for your skin is important.
With dry skin, you need a formula that can compensate for your under-active sebaceous glands and leave your skin feeling soft, supple, and smooth.
Because of all the chemicals that store-bought cleansers contain, they can wreak havoc on your skin and cause more dryness. In this blog post, I’ll help you out by teaching you recipes to 5 homemade skin cleansers for dry skin.
Let’s jump right in!
So, why should you make homemade face cleansers?
I am an advocate for making your own skincare products at home because the cleansers that you find over the counter contain too many chemicals and other stuff that’s harsh on your skin and can strip it of its natural oils.
This means that your skin can get drier by using these products.
And, you may also have an allergic reaction!
When it comes to your face, it’s best when you know where all those ingredients are coming from.
After all, it’s your skin!
5 Homemade face Cleansers for Dry Skin
In this section of the blog, I would like to share a few recipes for making your own homemade face cleansers to keep your dry skin clean, supple, and softer than ever.
Let’s begin.
1. Milky Way Face Cleanser
This cleanser contains simple ingredients that are good for your skin and ensure that it stays soft. The cleanser gently cleans your skin without stripping it of its natural oils and leave you with butter-soft skin. Bye-bye flakiness!
- Take 2 tablespoons of full cream milk
- Add 6-8 drops of olive oil While this cleanser is easy to make, you shouldn’t store it for long because milk has a short shelf-life and can easily go bad.
- Take a cotton ball and apply the cleanser liberally on your face
- Rub it in circular motions
- Leave it for a few minutes
- Wash your face with water
2. Detoxifying Face Cleanser
The curd is extremely good for your hair and skin because it adds in the much-needed moisture while cleaning your face thoroughly. Activated charcoal draws out impurities and toxins from your skin. Together, they’re invincible.
- Break the charcoal pill to get the powdered form
- Add two to three tablespoons of curd.
That’s too simple, right? But, keep in mind that it is still as effective.
- Take the cleanser and apply it on your face
- Gently massage your face for 2 minutes
- Leave it on for 8-10 minutes
- Wash your face with water
3. Honey and Oil Face Cleanser
This cleanser helps to remove all the dust, dirt, and grime on your face without getting rid of its natural oils leaving you with beautiful, soft, and smooth skin that everyone will envy.
- Honey – 3 Tablespoon
- Jojoba Oil – 2 Tablespoon
- Tea Tree Oil – 3-4 Drops
- Add two to three tablespoons of curd.
- Take a small amount of the mixture in the palm of your hand
- Apply it all over your face and leave it on for 2 minutes
- Rinse your face with water
- You can make this cleanser in batches every weekend as it doesn’t have a shelf life longer than nine days.

Olive oil has been used in skincare for centuries and is one of the best ingredients for dry skin. This cleanser will gently clean your face and help you get rid of all the nasty things while still keeping your skin soft and smooth.
- Olive Oil- 250ML

- Apply the mixture your face and massage gently
- Wait for a few minutes then remove the excess oil using a warm towel

Summing Up: 5 Homemade Face Cleansers for Dry Skin
Taking the right care of dry skin is extremely important because it can crack and peel which isn’t good to look at and is quite painful. If you don’t keep your skin in check, it can even lead to you getting wrinkles at an early age.
So, the right cleanser is essential in your beauty regime.
Not only does a cleanser remove all the dust, dirt, and bacteria on your skin, it also ensures that the natural oils remain on your skin to keep it moist and crack-free.
These homemade face cleansers are excellent choices as they’re all natural and good for your skin.
